FAQ

Quick answers.

Do indoor cameras need a subscription?+
Not necessarily. Most cameras record to a local microSD card for free. Subscriptions are only needed for cloud storage, and several models here have no mandatory plan at all.
What's the difference between pan-and-tilt and a fixed camera?+
A fixed camera points at one spot. A pan-and-tilt camera can rotate and tilt — often 360° — and many can automatically follow motion, which covers a whole room with a single device.
Is 2K worth it over 1080p?+
For reading faces and details across a room, yes. 2K (or higher) holds more detail when you zoom into a clip, and most modern indoor cameras ship with it by default.
Can I view the feed away from home?+
Yes — all of these connect over Wi-Fi and stream to a phone app. Some also work with Alexa, Google Home or Apple HomeKit for voice and automation control.
Are your scores lab measurements?+
No. Our scores are editorial estimates based on public specifications and owner reports. Treat them as a starting point, not a benchmark.
